This website is run by Wyre Forest District Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some of our fieldsets do not have a legend or the legend is empty. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterions 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A); 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A); 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA); 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A). We are currently working to resolve this. 

A small number of our form fields have multiple or missing labels. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterions 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A); 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A); 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA); 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A). These are fields pre programmed in our forms package. We are currently working to resolve this. 

Some text appears to be a heading but is not a heading element. This does not meet WCAG 2.1 success criterions 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A); 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (Level A); 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA). We are currently working to resolve this.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 31 May 2024. It was last reviewed on 31 May 2024.

This website was last tested on 31 May 2024 and continues to be regularly tested and automatically scanned for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines V2.1 level A and level AA. These tests have been carried out by Wyre Forest District Council web team using a combination of Wave, Lighthouse and Dubbot.

Manual testing was conducted on a sample of pages against the GOV.uk checklist. The sample covered the homepage; mostly text based pages; images and forms.
